Lately when i gas up my quest there is a small leak coming out of the back of the gun. it seems to be coming out of one of 2 small screw holes under my snatchpin, or possibly even out of the snatch pin. any ideas what it could be? btw the marker is lubed and i checked the o-rings already.

you got a goldmember bolt? even if u dont, take yer bolt out and remove the center oring. check for any cracks. Those are classic symtoms of a bolt about to take a dump. FEP will replace if that is the case. FYI ,they now have Platinum bolts that are top notch. GL

nope its stock bolt, sorry probably should have stated that. just looked under the oring and no cracks. any other things too look for? also. i tightened those 2 little screws about 1/4 of a turn and it stopped leaking so i thought it was fixed. about 30 minutes later i gassed it up again and now its leaking again.

might need to take those two body plugs out and relocktight them. if it really is leaking from those. otherwise id look at the back orings on the bolt and pin and make sure theyre all groovy.

hm. they dont seem to be lock tighted. i didnt know they are supposed to be. tommorow ill try putting a little teflon around that screw to see if that makes a difference. i dont want to locktight anything that i may need to take out later. are you sure it should be locktighted in there?
also like i said i looked at those o-rings and they looked fine to me. i replaced them anyways though and it didnt help

well from another thread somewhere along the line......... lu adaks i think mentions it........ the body plugs.....what those small screws are...... should be loctighted. mine are red loctighted, but yours might not show the loctite. if your worried about having to take them out at a later date you can either teflon tape them or blue loctite them. either way you should be able to get them out later on if you really want or need to. blue loctite isnt as hard to break loose and has been my friend on more than one occasion.

alright i think ill try the teflon first and if that eliminates the problem ill blue loctite it. thanks for your help ;).

Nah it's not the plugs. Mine does that too. You need to replace the very last oring in the back and make sure it's UBER lubed under and around the oring. Just keep taking it out, wiping off the lube, and relube until it sits correctly. It's leaking out the corner of the snatch pin like you think. Try wiping the lube out of the threads both in the body and the pin and under the oring, lube a new oring, put it on, and relube all the threads on the pin.

I was told by FEP to replace the last #17 o-ring with a #19 and it cured my leak. It seems that some of the snatch pins got machined a little to deep.
