If I bought a quest now, how do you think the resale will be effected by 08?

I don't have a crystal ball, but overall they have held their retail much better than most. Look at Make an offer sites on ebay, and offer low... ie, under $800 and some dealers will take!

by 2008? Im sure it will be affected abit. But unlike angels and proto's the Quests have held some decently solid resale. Shout me a pm and I will explain more, and try to pitch you on purchasing mine.

It's all about supply and demand. Right now, as fast as FEP can make markers they are being shipped out the door. Demand is high, which is why the resale is holding right now.

Since FEP is a smaller company they just can't pump out a zillion guns a month like Dye or WDP can, so supply, I am going to guess, will continue to be tight for a while.

Even when a new model Quest comes out, which like many other guns will be 90% consmetics (new milling), supply will still be tight since FEP still won't be able to make as many as bigger companies.

If the Quest continues to become more and more popular, more and more people are going to want them. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that that's going to help Quests keep their resale value better then other markers - at least until FEP is able to produce more markers down the road.

I think everyone should be ashamed of themselves. Thats right ladies, putting that marker you all rave about for sale at 500-600 is shameful. You wanna know how you help keep resale higher? You don't fucking sell out. A good price is 700-775 for a nearly new quest. If it looks like crap 650. But anyone who lists their marker below 700-800 should be slapped. Somone get me my baby powder, im gonna start bitch slapping everyone.

And btw ebay is ebay, If we wanted to trade on ebay we would. This is PBN so when we are here...FUCK ebay. If you wanna do your shopping on ebay then do it, but dont bring that shit hear and act like a fucking tuff guy.

So for everyone 1st handedly damaging the resale on the quest...SHAME ON YOU! Fucking shame on you. Go wait in the corner for Dave to put is big fucking boot up your ass.

I love this family, but acting like a family and then trying to undercut your brothers and sisters by selling your shit for like5-600 is fucking shameful.

NIB guns going on some internet site for under 800. Lets face it, on Pbn people go for Looks First, then ups, then the reputation of the gun..Farleys gun has his name engraved on it. Thats a negative point. His detailed pic showed the cosmetic flaws and old paint. I know Farley(sup kid), he'll clean up his marker and get a better deal. Not because its a quest, but cuz it'll be cleaner. Most of the peolple dealing here are kids, that often get ripped off or try to rip you off. IMO, Pbn throws a curve on the real used value of guns.Kids constently wanting to sell their guns super cheap, just to get into something new or get cash. THAT messes up the resale. Take 2 exact guns, same ups, makes, and models. Now post pics, one clean..one not so clean, SAME PRICE. Which one would you choose? ..the truth is, nobody is gonna buy a dirty gun, not even for 500. Arguement is, for a few more bucks, why not just a new one?
Thats why guns stay posted on Pbn for so long, kids are shopping for better looking deals....hell, if u got cash they'll even throw in their parents ipods...t
BTW, for the original post: FEP has already began work on new items. They know that trying to resell the same marker year after year wont cut it. (like timmies) Dave is no fool. SO by 2008, what will a Quest be worth? They been around since 2005, so thats 3 years(stylewise). Who knows?!! ..but i'll still have all of mine. GL, and be happy.

i soooooo agree and feel for the folks with guns up for sale. what i see as the biggest boon as well as the biggest problem with paintball is the fact that theres so many young players getting into it. MOST folks that get into paintball have thier parents buy thier gear. which leads to the problem of when someone shows up with something that apparently works better than what they are shooting. most young kids get a gun and shoot it for awhile cause they think its the chit. then someone shows up with a different gun and has a good day. next thing you know the kids are putting thier stuff up for sale for 500 bucks. not because thats all its worth, but because thats all they expect to get out of it because to them 500 bucks is alot of money. they just want some quick money to get the other gun and they know thier friends can only afford so much. so while kids are the future of paintball, they are also killing it at the same time. they wont actually pay the value of whatever gun theyre trying to get used and want to rape anyone selling an "old" gun. gun manufacturers dont help when they come out with new guns every year, but the fact is that paintball has become a fashion show instead of a skills show.

That's why I don't sell any of my stuff on eBay or on Pbn. I'll put it on a wall at a local store or sell it at a field. You'll get a more fair price for your stuff. Letting someone shoot your marker for a game, and lettting rip it themselves will do more to make them want to buy it then any pic on Pbn.

And ya, the dang kids with their Moms $$$$ buying stuff. Sheesh, they are doing more to drive down the market then anything else. They haven't learned the value of a dollar.

PS. I'll be down in SoCal in Oxnard/Ventura/Santa Barbara in 2 weeks. I plan on stopping in at FEP World HQ. Maybe I'll get some cool info on new stuff ;)

I'd just like to point out the the Poor grammar in Farley's f/s/t post, probably plays a fairly big factor in why no one has offered.
theres no bigger turn off, then when the seller doesn't take the time to make a well thought out post..
