View Full Version : Stabilizer
I have a Palmer Stabilizer, and had a few questions.
1) is it ok, to have the input preasure @ 850 psi from my tank?
2) what should i do to maintain it right? grease, oil, etc etc
3) It Has never given me problems, should i take it apart and grease?
4) what is this lp spring kit i saw for it?
My sig has my marker set up, my tank is a crossfire 68ci 4500psi preset @ 850psi input preasure to my marker is 180 to 200...
Thanks..

1. yes
2. just drop some oil in the ver. asa hole, then gas it up and dry fire
3.no dont risk it
4. no need to have a kit if your running high output preset
5. well if u have a classic then u should be able to set your stabe at like 4-500 psi ,then run the timmys front reg to the appropriate psi into the gun
however if your running with LP mods then i would invest in a adjustable system
Ok, Thanks..
Now what would be the diff, of running preset @ 850 into the stab, the stab being my hpr @ 180~200 psi, and my built in lpr @ 80 psi.
or
Adjustable tank, @ 400~500 psi into the stab, the stab being hpr @ 180~200 psi, and built in lpr @ 80 psi.
And ading an adjustable tank setup, wont that be to many regs?
Thanks alot, i have askt around an no one really knows...so i figure palmer people would...once again thanks...

the low pressure conversion for the palmer inline reg is made so that the reg can run at a optimum level of 300 PSI and below, not too sure if you want to run a timmy at that low of a PSI...
Well stock Timmy's run @ about 200~220
With lp mod and volumizer 180~200 psi, it also depends on alot of other things, but the outcome is 280 fps, i am preaty stable on the crono, -1/+2, no drop off, or anythikng, but i am afraid i am overpresuarising the Stab, and if i add another reg, its not gonna recharge enought, or sumthing... my other option is getting a preset tank @ 450psi, but for now im stuck with 850psi...
Thanks for your reply's...

Preset tanks have regs too...they just aren't adjustable. An adjustable tank shouldn't starve your gun but I don't think its necessary. The stabilizer was designed to run off of co2 (850 psi) so you should be fine.

You will not hurt the stabilizer by feeding it 850psi. Palmer's products are built for reliability, hence they're really difficult to screw up. I cant find the reference, but I recall Craig Palmer saying quite a while back that they pressure tested the stabilizer and it worked fine even when fed over 4500 psi. What that means is even if the reg on your tank failed and full bottle pressure was being let through, you wouldnt hurt the stabilizer (more importantly, you wouldnt hurt yourself).
As far as using the stabilizer on a timmy, it is quite suitable for use in a lp setup. The stabilizer is a high quality, quick recharging, very consistent regulator. Just remember that you dont have to turn the screw in much to adjust the pressure. 1/8th of a turn at a time should be lots if you're setting up a timmy.
Thanks alot, i am ever so glad i got one of these, great product, and people are amazed on my consistancy on the crono....ty guys for all your info...
P.S. Downloding cz beta
