We are attempting to get paintball back into the Florida Law Enforcement/Fire games for 2007, which will be held in Sarasota County. Paintball was dropped after the 04 games due to the lack of interest/teams. Paintball started in the Law Enforcement games in 03 and only lasted 2 years. We believe that the lack of participation was due to the format of the tournament, which was 3 man using only one hopper of paint per player per game. If we are fortunate to get pb back into the games, the format will be 5 man with PSP rules. After speaking with a PBA representative they need a letter explaining the reason why we think pb will draw more teams than in the past. With the proper guidance, I don't see an issue with getting 10-15 teams between the 2 departments state wide. My goal is to get more than 15 teams, but for now I think 10 teams could get us back in the games. This is the first of many posts in an effort to achieve our goal. I would also appreciate any input from local departments that have teams and would be interested in playing.

I work for Sarasota County Fire and own a Paintball store and field in Sarasota. I would be interested in hosting the event or supporting in some way. I know several paintballer/firefighters that would be interested in a paintball event.
