I run C02 through my gun and i have an anti-siphon tank. I know I would eventualy like to run nitro or compressed air through it so i was wondering should i get a reg and what would the positives and the negitives be or should i just get an x-chamber?

My suggestion would be in your case to go w/ a Palmer Stabilizer. Especially if it will be awhile before you switch to HPA. Stab's work well on both Co2 and HPA and you wouldn't be out the cost of an expansion chamber that you'd be selling after you get the HPA at a loss.
