I bought a ts for my cousin, thinking it would be reliable and easy to clean, but it has yet to be reliable. I've only used this gun on compressed air. When first using this gun, to get it shooting under 280, I had to close the valve too long and durning rapid fire it did not like to recock. Then I put a reg on it so I could turn out the velocity adjuster, and without changing any springs I found 600psi to be the lowest it would run so it would recock. Took it out to the field and after 2 games (no broken paint), the gun went it rapid fire (not resetting) and chopped. The air tank had 2000+psi left so I have no idea what the problem was. Took the gun apart, everything was clean except for the feed and bolt since it chopped. O-rings were oiled and the sear had little wear. Does anyone have a clue what's up with this gun?

That's a very common problem. The gun requires a thicker gas to function properly. CO2 is best for it but then you have the problems of it freezing up.

You might need a vertical regulator if your running nitro, or get an expansion chamber for Co2.

Ran mine at 500 psi with nitro and no problems...........ever.

did you have to change any springs to get the pressure to 500psi or is it totally stock?

A couple of questions for you Rambler.....
which Sentinel model is the problem w/ and approximate age?
Does the hammer have a ballbearing on the top as a guide or a milled " fin "
Also check to make sure the valve has the slightly radiused hole is down.
Also does the valve spring wire seem the same as the hammer spring wire?

Crash: The hammer has a fin on it. The valve spring is lighter than the hammer spring.

Drop me a PM - sounds like you've got a set of early springs - I'll get a new set out to you.
