This isn't necessarily a drill but what helps is to jog at least a mile a day- this helps with getting to the bunker fast off the break.
Another that i have been doing lately is setting a hopper on top of something, loading your gun with 5-15 balls and try snapshooting from behind a tree or something until you get it. This comes in handy becasue lots of times you only see their hopper

take a peice of plywood set it up in your yard take a extra mask put it on the ground just peeking out now snap shoot from the tree make sure the plywood is a good 30 feet away or so to get that accuracey and speed worked on

another thing place a mask or pop bottle or something behind a board and start about 20 feet away run by and try shooting it. Cause your gonna learn that shooting while running is key to a good game

a good one is setting up bunkers everywhere and have one guy with a gun stand in the open while another guy move from bunker to bunker. you can put flags or something in the bunkers so that the player with the most flag wins or something.
another drill is making 2 on 1s and 3 on 1s and 3 on 2s and stuff like that.
the best drills are the exercises given in APG. Jan 2003. i started these exercises and there HARDCORE,

Start out with some easy individual drills... Snap shooting drills against some teammates (just go to 2 bunkers and snap eachother), or do it by yourself and shoot up a pole or something. Maybe have a 2-3 teammates shoot the hell out of your bunker (keeping posted and never sticking their heads inside their own bunkers) while you try and shoot their faces off (snaping them).
I can think of a million drills and i'm too lazy to type any good team practicing ones, so if you want them, PM me or something.
Ya know it's funny, I can think of all these great drills late at night or sitting on the toilet, but I can never remember to try them when it comes practice time. LOL

to learn to play tite, put a couch or something to use as a bunkr infront of a mirror. pop out and look at the mirror, then adjust so less of you is sticking out. do this over and over till you are coming out as small as you can be.
practicing with your off hand is also one of the most overlooked things you can do, but the most effective.

suicides are also good. you know, when you line up and run 35 feet or so, touch the ground, and run back? that will help sprinting and gettin in shape, which is what you need when runnin from bunker to bunker

He asked for drills on how to improve his skills, not getting him in shape. If you don't know what you're talking about, then just don't post! Ever! Talking to you Colicious and Automagsrule! Oh yeah, and Smart-, NEVER EVER TAKE ADVICE FROM APG MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!

Do a lot of shuttle runs
50 Yard (45 Meter) dashes are good too
Running a mile a day helps with endurance, since my last two suggestions dealt with sprinting.

acuaracy/posting drill
set up a clothes line and attatch some things to it. get a teammate to pull it while you are behind a bunker/bigtree andshoot the targets as they appear. this should help you with posting and learning to shoot ahead of a moving target ;)

I really wish you people would post real drills. Not all this running BS. The man asked for drills on how to improve his paintball skills, not how to improve how fast he runs or long he can run.
Jessus you people are slow (those of you who are making comments about running drills)!

hehe your comment should of been before mine!
POSTING/ACCURACY
- see above post (2 up)
TAPE
- set up miscellaneous EXTRA gear behind bunkers (mask pod/pack, hoppers, water jugs, etc...) and do runs where you run the tape shooting each one. start off slow (as ina walk) and speed it up
COMMUNICATION
- figure out a system that your team will use to call out eliminations, losses, time, positions, cover fire, etc...
- PRACTICE them the best codes in the world are useles if you don't know what they are, use them regularily, or cannot remember them
DEFENSE
- set up an outnumbered defensive position with a couple players and stay posted, as soon as you get the numerical advantage jump on the opportunity and switch to offense
- switch it up! but do it in conjuction with the other person usually by getting their attention and saying, "switch!"(got this tip from another local team and it works great:))
OFFENSE
- controlled agression = < stupidity
- eliminate a key position, or side, and exploit that side of the field. helps if you have another team and/or a coatch telling you what to do and when
- learning when the opportunity to push arises and acting on it ASAP, WITH YOUR TEAM, is a very important skill (i know my team lack it :()
ACCURACY
- set up targets on bunkers, sit in your normal bunker, have another player call the positions out to you (preferably in your code system, see communication), if you can't see move
MANY-on-1s
- you should be doing at least 2-on-ones already
BUNKERING/POSTING/RELOADING
- Similar to a 1 on 1 but one person is designated poster and the other is designated bunkerer. Keep poster in there untill they get eliminated. Send new bunkerer right after the last one is eliminated. Once a bunkerer wins they get to post (reward- no more running - sorry afterbang i got a running drill in here)
SWITCH HITTING
- no joke its a valuable skill that will make you a better player
- best done in co-operation with your opposite so you never neglect a tape (how can u tell i was a back player :P)
SNAP SHOOTING
- can be squeesed into the rest of the drills
- do a 1-on-1 where you can't move
MUGGING
- practice taking out a posted player and getting back behind the bunker (try over the top or comming in high/low)
- make it harder by having another player cover the one you're trying to mug!
Hope these help :)
>>EDIT<< Thanks bro! I run 1 mile, jog 1 mile, and walk 1 mile on the treadmill 5 days a week ;) sure helps with endurance but try to get some progressive resistance training (weights) in there too to build up bone desity and remember to streach a lot for injury prevention. running will become cycling to the gym once this GOD forsaken snow melts and it stays above 10*C >>EDIT<<

Hey AncientSpear, I have no problem with running in a drill, as long as it's a real drill. Most of these dimwits were posting, "UUUMMMMMMM....... RUN TO THE 50 AND BACK! IT WILL MAKE YOU FASTER!". That has nothing to do with improving skill! Your "running drill" was actually acomplishing something. Team practices are no time to be doing "wind sprints". Fittness should be taken care of by the player on his own time. If the player is not doing all he can to stay as fit as you need him, cut him, you shouldn't waste everyone's time at a practice to run drills that involve nothing more than getting "in shape". That's what I meant.

no prob bro. i knew what you were getting at afterbang ;) i agree wholehartedly but over half my team dissagrees so we're doing some running (a couple hundreed meters) as a warmup b4 practices now.
another thing we're thingking of doing while snapshooting is getting everyone to nominate a spot they get hits on the most often. then whenever they get hit there they have to run the driveway and back. over time the assistant captain and i figure this will force us to play tighter or shadow better while letting the lazies get their exercise without wasting too much time on P/T.
ACCURACY/SWITCHING
- set up 2 targets one on your 25 and another on the 50. practice bringing up marker and firing 1 shot at each then switching hand and repeating. once you get more consistant hits on the target change location.
COMMUNICATION/ACCURACY (favorite)
- Have 1 or 2 dudes running around with empty cases of paint. have them hide behind bunkers while you call out their positions and try to hit the boxes. after 1 hit the box player moves to new spot. advance and shoot as necessary constantly communicating the new positions to your partners or calling for it. move up/sideways whenever you hit the box AND/OR when you cannot see. once this gets too easy have a couple netral players on the box side taking shots at those doing the drill when they are in the open OR get the box holders to yell at the lazy shooter :) we really like this drill and took turns being the box holder. it's amazing at how quickly you pickup locating the box, calling the position, and snap shooting. while moving make sure you are tree/bunker shadowing as much as possible just like you would in a normal game.

keep in mind that if you dont know how to effiectivly walk a field that these drills are useless when it comes to game time. you could be the worlds best snap shooter and a fat guy with alot of knowledge of the fiuelds could use a blind spot to sneak up and get a good angle on you and smoke you in the face.
some drills our team does:
practice sliding into a bunker and coming out shooting as fast as possible without sacrificing your control or balance. (not appropriate for all positions, but a good skill nonetheless)
pair drills- take a couple of guys and get them used to working together and moving up the field or tape. put a back guy or two out on the field and have these guys make their way up the field as fast as possible without geting hit
1 on 1's, 2 on 1's, 3 on 1's, 7 on 3's, you get the point
sweet spotting drills- start your back/mid guys on one side of the field, and your front/ mid guys on the other and simulate a breakout and have the back guys shoot and the front guys run. simple huh
communication is also key in any game. you dont necsesarily need codes but have a recognizable communication system to go by.
and speed is not a must have in paintball (although it is a bonus to have). alot of the times if you just try flat out sprinting to your bunker your gonna get sweet spotted. you need to be skilled at finding running lanes and exploit them to your advatage. speed comes second IMO. but speed is good just not required so much.

Throw sh*t in the air and try to shoot it. It's actually good for you and it doesn't require alot from you.

Dude, tons of people can do it. I mostly see Ollie What'sHisFace from that one team called Dynasty doing it. He can hit tiny rocks and such. I watched him do a little (very little indeed) dirt clog last weekend.
I can hit pods easy...:)

some dude on smoked on avalance did it. i think its like a good luck charm but whatever.
2 on1's 3 on 1's are great. put a mask or hopper next to a bunker and snap shoot them. you shouldnt see the paint hitting it. by the time that happens u should already be back in your bunker.

I love how he chastised automagsrule for posting a running drill along with everyone else.
afterbang, read, comprehend, post. in that order.
I agree with automagsrule on the snapshooting mirror thing, it is super useful if you are front man. and just always pulling you're gun's trigger is good. what ever you do, watching Tv, reading crap on here, etc. have your gun in your hand and pull, pull, pull. you'll notice a good 2-3 bps increase in your shooting.

You forgot to mention that you are basing that information on absolutely nothing.

Besides personal experience. without this my off hand would only be able to shoot like 3 bps max.

yeah throwing stuff up in the air helps alot being able to follow the target with your gun shooting. Also try putting bottles around 50 feet from you. then run to another bunker closer and practice trying to shoot one of them will making it to your other bunker may help when your moving up the feild and see a body part sticking out and you got a chance to hit it
