i have been noticing that when i 1 ball it my quest is inaccurate, but when ramping kicks in the gun is ball on ball accurate.

has anyone else seen this?

any help is appreciated. thanks.

Its because you are inaccurate.

When you shoot single shots you know that you dont have another ball coming out of the barrel to correct your previous mistake. With ramping or other high rates of fire, you have balls coming out at 15 BPS. So if you miss the target with the first ball or two you can easily correct with the other balls that are coming from the gun. So while you think you are more accurate with ramping, it is only slightly true. This is because paintballs themselves arent very accurate projectiles, so many of your shots...even if youre lined up right on the target, wont ever hit it.

Got it?

i dont think it is me. i have had others shoot it and they say the same thing.

by inaccurate i mean like at 30 feet it is like a 4 foot circle and when i shoot faster it is like a 1 foot circle.

i am also that playing when i notice this so i am not thinking that i dont have another shot to correct my mistake.

thanks for the help. but i want to see if anyone has anyother explinations.

Most players in this sport arent accurate at all. So while you may feel it is the guns fault, Im afraid its most likely you.

But to humor you, are you sure your LPR and HPR are lubricated and assembled correctly? Is your bolt lubed correctly? Is your battery fresh?

yea. i had a dm6 before this and it was just as accurate when shooting fast but more accurate when shooting 1 ball.

i put a new cp reg on it. would the cp reg breaking in do that?

The Hyper II on the DM6 is a much better regulator than the stock Quest regulator or the CP Regulator. And we all know that consistency is the key to accuracy in most all cases. But it seems like what youre saying is the exact opposite of what should happen. Either way, break it in and see what happens.

i suggest playing a day with a pump and you will then shoot "darts"... pumps are the hardest thing i have done in paintball and frustrating

I love playing pump, once your good with a pump on a speedball field, you'll own everyone when you put the Quest back in your hands.

ill have to agree and say its probably YOU thats innaccurate. i have had no such problems with my quest. it shoots where i point it. within 2ft when snapshooting(shouldering and shooting in one motion) my normal target is a 5gallon bucket lid and i hit it 9 of 10 shots. at 50+ feet(just because i havent measured the actual distance but know its more than 40).
the reg on the quest is just fine. only reason to change it is for macro placement. and if its a new reg, YES you need to break it in.

im afraid i dont understand why you guys think playing pump is so hard. maybe its cause im old school and thats where i started was playing pump back in '92. (yeah i just told yall im an old ass baller, i remember when the automag and autococker were brand new guns and the smg was godlike). pumps just MAKE you learn the basics of paintball... ie how to PLAY the game, not just shoot fast. also, when you have a pump on a speedball field against semis, the best thing you can do is MOVE. you dont have the rate of fire, but pumps are smaller and lighter and therefore make it easier to move around, dont get scared and sit and try to go toe to toe with a "supergun", youll die almost everytime unless you get a good snapshot in. take advantage of the mobility and go get thier ass! people will laugh at you for having a pump(if they even know what one is) but it never ceases to amaze me just how pissed off they get when you shoot them with it. especially when they just bought an 1800 dollar gun. and the better you are with a pump, the better you are with ANY gun. especially the quest cause it rocks so hard and easy.
sorry, that was a bit of a rant at the end there.

Played with a pump the other day and I want one of my own so bad! It's so much fun to see the reaction of an XSV Ego owner when you bunker them with one! So much fun!

just to let you know i played pump for a long time. me and my friends played a (not pump) tourney with pumps and got 2nd place. so i can say with some confidence that i am fairly accurate.

i agree with jeffrey on this one. pumps make you learn the basics like moving more than accuracy. althought it does help on accuracy also.

Sorry I was trying to be on ur side about the 1st shot thing, but if ur 100% sure its not fsdo. then other than a junk detent(s) I would say the error is not on the marker end. I can oneball insanely well. When we train we do one ball snap shooting, ill tell ya shes accurate 1bps or 20 bps.

so ur saying if u 1 ball a target it DOES NOT DROP OFF. but is not accurate. well as far as im concerned, assuming ur paint to barrel match is on par, every ball should hit the same area. Im part of the family of ballers who still cant understand why people think any gun is more accurate or shoots farther than any other. unless ur experiencing consistancy issues such as fsdo.

so assuming

detents are perfect
barrel is clean
paint match
no fsdo or consistancy issue.

well I didnt wanna agree with the guys knocking ur accuracy, but if all the above are true....I must say, If the shoe fits...
