had my frame off today and noticed something. theres two sets of holes in the body to screw it into. one that it seems everyone uses, and i think is how it comes from FEP where theres a little room between the lpr and the guard and another set that puts the guard right up to the lpr. i know thier literature says they have a "slider frame system" or something like that, but i just thought it was the extra holes on the bottom of the grip to move the rail mount a little more forward. didnt think theyd have another set of holes to move the whole grip frame forward. its not more than a half inch difference, but combined with having your rail on the forward holes at the bottom, the move really makes a difference. especially if you turned your rail to hang off the front of the grip instead of "normal" where it would be flush at the front and back. and here i was just wondering the other day why they had the top of the trigger guard curved to follow the lpr when it doesnt sit against it.

Yeah, front position is mainly for front players. Back is more for back/mid. Its all prefrence though.

I prefer back position just because grpping the hpr is harder when the frame is so close.....just my opinion, either way its tight.

I play with the forward position. It feels more comfortable, though I think maybe the weight is distributed better on the back position.
One of the first things I found b/c I wanted to know my serial number =)

I can probably get a forward/back grip comparison tomorrow when I get home from work.
Don't have the best digital camera, though.
W/o opening it up (otw to bed) what do ya'll think, center to center a difference of 1cm?

wow........didnt think id get this much response from this post....
angus.......the forward may be for "front" players and the back for mid/back players..... but if you like your "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhtuff" all nice n tight(or have short arms) the forward holes make it so. kicking everything forward alleviates the need for a long rail or a drop.
ghost...... indeed it is yet another thing that makes this gun shine above others. it is PACKED with ALL SORTS of cool azz features from the factory.
young.... it looks the same for the most part........ its only a 1/4" diff with where things get placed as far as you can tell...... but like lu says... he doesnt like it cause it kicks it too much forward and makes it hard to grip the reg... in the "normal" position your fingers kinda wrap around the reg in a natural way where the grooves are and fit in the cut-outs of the guard. its mostly a matter of craning your neck a bit to bring it right up tight if you dont have a 45/45(instead of a 68/45). as apposed to using the holes, where its kicked forward to start, but your fingers dont wrap around the reg as easy and you can use a 68/45 for the same effect.
gailon.......... wtf is up with the metric crap? lololol.......that damn new math. anyways, i hope you could figure a conversion to fit this from what ive given so far....... and i think its about a 3/8 center to center. but works out to be a 1/4" diff. all told on where things end up. i like the forward pos. better to balance out the loader tho. puts it more on your hand than behind it. but the balance behind your hand with the tank/frame back might appeal to others.
i like to have the back of the gun as close to me as i can and the front as "pointable" as possible(front heavy guns are harder cause your always fighting the gun to point it where you want). just makes it easier to fill in as many positions as i can, and feels nice to me. and the way i have my quest set up it balances on my finger just in front of the rear frame screw. with tank and hopper. besides........i like the number of shots i can get off a 68........i dont HAVE to get a fill every game. and with how fast the quest shoots i want to be able to shoot as much as possible for one person(harness and tank wise). dont pay attention you drain your hopper REALLY quick.
like i said originally... its not much difference by itself, but if you add it to anything else, it becomes just enough.
