I'm an Intimidator kinda guy, but I've been looking into getting a Quest. You guys are obviously the experts, so tell my why I should trade my beloved Ripper away and come to the dark side...

Hahah same hear, im picking up a Gz timym soon for a backup/loaner, just because i know that they can be fixed< and sicne a guy here is like a timmy god and owns like 9....>

Ok heres the Points

The quest is Very Small Half the Size of the Timmy..Ya...think of it as a Single tube of that timmy and your very close..

Its Lighter and Balances Great... Where as if you hold the timmy at an angle, sometimes you feel the Strain, you dont get that Much with the quest since the hopper is closer to your hands...

Speed wise it'll do.. not as Fast as a Timmy , it wont Hit 30 Cps but it Will do 23, Which is More then enuff in Almost ANY tourney scene.

Maintence is Very simple, We seriously cant stree how easy it is to do it. Simply take out bolt, Lube and replace, Maybe a Min the first time and with practice you get it Reallly low.. like 30 secs or lower. Whereas to relube the timmy you need to Take out the Ram cap,Lube Ram, replace and then Slap some triflow on Bolt orings and your set...

The Quest falls short in the Ups department.. although it has 95% of Everything it needs Stock, theres the Cosmetics , like Feedneck,Snatch pin. and then the Board, but the Stock is WAS <as of April 1st i think?> and its Plenty fast and Easy to Rip on.

It Feels A whole lot mroe comfy then a Timmy.. Trust me you'll love the feel. my Friend owns a ALias... He Loves the quest but isnt ready to Risk ventureing into "New Territory" with a Small company.. but it Really does pay off.

You get the BEST customer service and Support. and the Greatest Group on the Fep fourm to help you out. so dont worry about it and Just buy your quest ^^.. Btw.. if you call them direct you can get it custom annoed and get the Upgrades for it also.......

Btw... i like to type... lol!

wait...so when i call them up to order my quest i can choose a custom anno? How much? oh, and arseface, they get about the same efficiency as a timmy, a little quieter, and less kick.

^^ ya what he said...

Efficency is Great, you get some Serious shots off a out of the box quest...
hopper and 4 pods.. then after you break it it you can get it hopper and 8 pods.

with paint its quieter and without its louder.. just one of those things.

and kick is vey minimal, you wont feel it at all.

i know where your coming from, still got my timmy along w/ quest. like em both, quest is little lighter, speeds the same, effeciency is about the same, best thing i could say to do, is to try one out for a game or two if you can and see if you like it and how it performs. I am happy w/ mine. still haven't decided which is my primary gun, the timmy or quest but love them both its so hard to choose!

One of the FEP guys is Neil Penny. For those of you who don't know him, he was on Mommas Boys and worked for Bob Long at his shop/house, putting together timmys and teching them at events for years.

Chris Cole, a top FEP guy, started out with Trixs and moved onto Shockers as well as played pro for a loooong time (Ground Zero/NYX, Sedition, etc).

These guys intimatly know what ballers want, and they have worked on the inside in the gun market. Add to that, Dave and the rest of the crew there at FEP, who have a zillion years of experience behind them, and you know these guys didn't put together a hunk of junk.

Timmy frames are pressed. It's one of the cheapest ways to make parts out there. The design is solid, but the quality has always been questionable. Shockers have the same problems. They are made from substandard aluminum, which is why they won't hold their anno and fade pretty quick. Some anno shops won't even do them anymore because they are hard to anno and don't hold it very long. They also have a lot more O-rings.

I'd put the quality on par with Dye and WDP. It's well made, and the design is solid. The only problem they've had is with the electronics in the first 2 runs (original board, and first code gen WAS board), and with the original FEP grips, which they are going to replace for FREE.

It's a new gun, less then a year old, and it's already solid. They have tool-less bolt pins out already, which SP still doesn't make for Shockers. They came out with a cam lock feed colar, which took Planet Eclpise 2 years to finally come out with for Egos. They are coming out with new anno combos, and are rumored to have a super high efficent bolt kit in the works. Bonebreak is already designing a PL Quest for release. PGI called it the sleeper marker of 06.

Everyone I've let shoot mine here in NorCal has gone out and got one. 2 local stores started carrying them after I took mine in and let the owners check them out.

If throws paint just as well as any other top of the line marker out there. But for real, just find one and play a game with it. Don't take our words for it. You've got to do your research and test it yourself.

after our graduation my friend and i both got new guns. i went for a quest and he went for an alias
he ended up trading his alias in to get a quest for our team. he says that it has a better body more efficient and tho its not as fast(he had a virtue) he still thinks it has the speed
go and buy one i got one from my store for 775$ which is a good deal in my eyes

its easily the straightest shooting gun i have ever shot, and i have shot them all.

its great on air. out of a 3k you should be able to get close to that. i can get 500shots out of 1k psi easy, and thats like a hopper and 3.5pods. you should really invest the money in a 4500psi tho. youll get 50% more shots from the same size tank just because it holds that much more air. youll lose about 500psi on a fill after it cools down, so the more you can get in there to start with the more youll have afterwards. besides.....fibrewrap tanks look soooo much cooler than steel(aluminum) tanks. but ive got a 5pod harness and my hopper and i dont expect to have any problems shooting all that on one fill of a 68/45. in fact i could probably carry a few "loose" pods without any trouble. fep advertises approx. 1500 from a 68/45... so a 3k should get you about 750ish shots which is around 5 pods. so yeah, basically you should be able to get close to that with a 3k.

im thinking bout teh quest so bad.butkinda looks ugly thou.
ONE Q.

do we really have to go into the whole distance thing about guns? its been going on for sooooooooooooooo long. EVERY GUN will shoot just as far as ANY OTHER given the same velocity and paint/barrel match. thats just physics. all things being equal they will shoot just as far. however.... PERCEIVED distance is another matter. and depends on the flight characteristics of the gun. "flat" shooting guns "seem" to go further. because they go right where your aiming instead of arcing. the whole which gun shoots farther has been done to hell and back so give up on it now. they ALLLLLLLLL shoot just as far.

rockmehard

ok well does this gun shoot flat or do u have to arch

cdimic
