Put some Xrings on both the pin (3*#014) and the bolt (2*#017, 1*#018).
I couldnt even get the Bolt into the body, but the pin slide right into the bolt.
So i had to get some normal orings on the bolt instead of the Xrings.
I had to crank the LPR up a bit (dunno how many psi, have no gauge) but that was expected. Ill try this setup for a time, in my DM3 i noticed that with Xrings you dont have to change the Xrings as often as with regulare ones.

Yeah I would stick with o-rings. X-rings are durable and seal really well, but their extra surface area makes them less efficient. I suppose they would do well on parts that don't move.

Here is the reason that the X-Rings dident work......

FEP Designed this marker for O-Rings from the begining. Many marker manufacturers just pick an o-ring and cut a groove as long as the o-ring fits then its ok and they move on...
Chris did not design this marker that way. Chris chose readily available o-rings (you can buy all the o-rings at home depot) then he engineered the grooves to work with the o-rings some o-rings are stiffer than others, some are wider etc. So he picked the standard orings and Engineered the marker to work with the properties of the o-ring.

X-rings are designed for sloppy situations which is the case on many markers like spyder clones etc. But those markers are just mass produced with minimal engineering. The Quest was ALL engeneering... ever wonder why the marker is so simple??? Because he made it that way! FEP did not want you to have to deal with broker airlines, 200 different little o-rings, etc. the marker has countless hours of research and development put into it and from the factory its ROCK SOLID! Lots of people like to change parts on their markers because a CP reg is better or a whatever part is better,,,, Let me tell ya FEP is putting the best parts possible on this marker so you dont have to spend another 800.00 adding crap on it to make it work the way you want it to. heck the reg that comes from the factory is the toughest version of the old palmer stabalizer I have ever seen,,,, for those of you who dont know what that is, its what every other regulator manufacturer copied FEP just improved on it with stronger parts. If you want your marker to last a long time and be easy to take care of, just get the snatch pin, and the lever headlock ring, and be done with it! the marker is ready to go out of the box!

i was wondering if that was palmers pursuit dave palmer. and as an old mechanical cocker owner i do know what a stabilizer is and how awesome it was. sometime soon im gonna have to take a walk down to my local home depot and see where the heck they keep the orings. got an idea cause ive been there looking for stainless screws (the only one they dont have is the 1/4in buttonhead for the cocker frame) but i want to see what they got for orings. and maybe s/s grip screws.

No Glenn Palmer is the gentleman that owns palmers pursuit,, no relation to Dave Palmer.

I was only saying that the Palmer stabalizer is what set the standard for HP regulators almost every HP reg out there is in some way a copy of the original Palmer Stabalizer FEP just put stronger internals into the reg which makes it even more stable with less variation.

Actually, x-ring are designed to be moved and rotated, not just for sloppy sitations.
