We placed 7th outta 16 teams in Open Div.. Gave the Best Team there a HARD game that resulted in a Stalemate. if it wasnt for a Bad ref call that Pulled Us on a 1 for 1 We would have won <Favoriteism to Hometeam? maybe?>

Either way it was an Awesome weekend! Not bad for Playing with 6 Friends who put a team together -3 months ago, and played with 2 Inexpericence Alts...<3months!! of PLAY!>

Supposidly its a poisonus barb, upon entry it just peirces, but then barbs tear away at skin and inject the poison.

Im a huge Marine fish fanatic, I have come close to buying stingrays before-hell i used to sell them when i worked at the pet store. Jellyfish, lionfish, octapi and stonefish were always what we were supposed to be careful of.

guardians........i think its mostly because of the youngness of most players today.
they dont realise what the meaning of the word value is. they just want to sell the gun they have now so its up for 500 bucks. because they know thier friends can only afford that much money. doesnt matter how much they paid for a gun, thats all they expect to get out of it. so if you want to get more out of it it has to be massively upped. i think its great that young folks are getting into paintball, i just have a problem with what theyre doing to the resale values of guns. and the manufacturers arent helping coming out with new versions every year.

lmao.....i just got done watching venture bros. show just cracks me up. so much funny stuff. i think this season is better than the first although i didnt see all of season one. my favorite so far is still the one with malatov cocktease. the one where theyre dressed up for the rocky horror picture show is good too. a lot of "grown up" jokes and gags in the show(because most kids dont know the rocky horror picture or apocalypse now or alot of the other references).

this might should go in the vs. thread but............. is it just me or is smart parts(the motherfookindevil) trying to make the shocker what it shouldve been several years ago, with the nxt? it has a roller trigger and the h.e. bolt stock now. and a bigger trigger frame. i didnt pay THAT much attention to the specs since im so happy with my quest, but it looks like theyre trying to compete pretty much directly with it.

and still the only thing they really have over it is mass production capability and the fact that everyone knows what a shocker is, not that its any better.

egos imo are the best ram guns out there though, if you tune them right they work beautifully. but the big issue is idiots having no idea how to work them and then complaining about kick, noise, efficiency etc etc. fortunetly quests work amazing stock so theres no need to tune.

i like egos because the bolt sits at the front of the rammer, and i believe it sits in the middle on cyborgs, but i could be wrong never really looked into it. anyway yeah imo the quest is definetly the best spooler out there, it has everything a front or mid player could ever want. it even has 99% of the stuff back players love, the only issue is with back players who like shooting 1.6k+ shots per game.

I see what you mean. Performance wise, the borg is much more touchy but shoots better when you have a clue you are doing. I'm not 100% sure what you mean by the rams comment because I'm not 100% sure what the ego ram loks like. I didn't own my ego long enough to bother with it to that extent.

I'm really excited to shoot my quest though. Have you guys seen the factory anno'd tiger striped quest? I just picked it up and it is beautiful. I actually plan on keeping this gun until my 07 borg is shipped to me. Then, it will become my backup. Not anytime before then though.

It's all good man. To tell the truth, I envy you younger guys. I'm 34 and in the twilight of my paintball career. I wish I could have your youth to see the future of paintball and to have a chance again to try my hand at the pros. I'd give up my car in a second to go back 10 years. Now I'm stuck in a cube working 60 hours a week with an hour commute each way.

I've got two passions in life, cars and paintball. Paintball is my only real release, and I really do it because I love it. The team I co-captain has a bunch of kids on it who don't have much money, so I know how it can be. Heck, I was there to once. But I do what I can. I end up forking out a lot of my own money to help out me team, but it's all worth it to me. All the money in the world is worthless if you can't have fun with it, and giving back to younger players like the old guys did when I was young.

I don't know what I'm gonig to do in a few more years when I can't play anymore. As it is, I get up on Monday morning and my joints ache and I'm sore as hell. To all you younger guys, for me, please enjoy it while you can. Before you know it you'll be in your 30's, stuck in a real job and looking at having to go to your in-laws house next Sunday when all you really want to do is to be blasting fools.

PS. More eyes are coming in next week. jeffreyjames, if you send me your harness, I'll put you on a pair for free. ;)

bronc........im only 2yrs behind you! im already looking at getting knee and ankle braces to play. and i agree with everything you said for the younger players. enjoy it while you can and have the chance! and ive been doing my damndest to avoid the cube and those kinds of hours. however, "the real world" is making that more and more difficult. i keep finding myself with more and more responsibilities and/or things to pay for. recently the biggest one was paying for my leg(i broke my tibia and fibula... while playing of all things...and im "banned" untill i get health insurance)
i wasnt trying to single you out or anything, i just truly had a bad day with so many of my past failures thrown in my face(by someone else). and none of it really had anything to do with paintball. in fact paintball is one of the few things that has kept me somewhat sane the last few years, even if im not allowed to play. its the thought that i can again someday, and its my only real outlet for all my frustrations.
and i wish i had the opportunity that you do in being a mentor to younger players. i know its a disease of youth, but they really dont think i have anything to impart to them. they have thier views and im wrong because its different than what they think it should be. probably alot to do with living in a place that is mostly ignored by the "big teams" or circuits. the midwest has many many great players that dont get any credit just because theyre not in cali or the east coast. not to mention that thier younger and "obviously know better" but thats a different rant.
however, i am glad you took it so well and i am also sorry i singled you out. i think there might have been some sort of point to what i had to say and i just didnt get it across well, but having read it after the fact i fully deserved what was said. and as far as ive seen, you have done great work with finding ways to do things different with the quest. i appreciate the offer on eyes, but id feel a little bad if i didnt give you at least something for your effort. and while my quest was functional i didnt have any problems with it.

just an observation....

is it just me or is paintball practically the only sport where folks make thier decisions about equipment based on what the "pros" use or who might sponsor them? what folks dont realise is that with most other sports, the pros use what they want to use, not what they "have" to use(because of sponsorships or whatever).

look at pro basketball... the uniforms are all the same, they pretty much just choose whose shoes they want to wear....and they all wear different shoes. football..... same thing.... nobody cares what pads they use cause theyre all basically the same(and hidden) and pretty much has to do with who the league uses(probably several companies). look at hockey, the players all use different sticks and helmets and pads, but its the ones that they feel comfortable with as a player.......not ones dictated to them by the rest of the team or sponsorship(unless they are personally sponsored/spokesperson for). but they only do the promo stuff for gear that they use because its what they WANT to use. maybe all thier jerseys are made by reebok, but thats really about all there is for conformity within the teams equipment besides the general look.

i understand that paintball is a much smaller market sport, but its also practically the only one where you cannot really choose as a player what you wear or use in the context of the team. everyone has to use the same stuff or your not "a team". you cant decide that you like these pads better than another, or this pack over another or the cut of this jersey, or this particular gun. maybe more teams need to consider what they have particular companies sponsor for them... i.e. this company sponsors thier jerseys and pants, another sponsors thier guns, another for packs and so on. with the budget crunches the last few years it will probably be easier to get such deals, since your spreading the costs over several companies instead of asking one company to foot your whole bill. however, i think it has to do more with league sponsorship and the ability to choose in the case of the majors and that players buy the gear that they want to use and not the gear buying the teams. for instance the team provides them with a uniform made by this or that company..... but they are free to choose things like cleats, gloves or whatnot. the "personal" parts of the equipment, not having to use this or that because they sponsor the team.

paintball needs to get away from its incestuous ways and truly make an effort to get "outside" sponsorship. the more people and companies from outside the sport we get the better. not just things like sports drinks or whatever. real "big" companies like addidas, nike, and full on national sponsors like banks, sports channels, chain restaurants, various equipment manufacturers(leaguewide, not just for teams).
of course there is also that these teams make money over the course of the year by selling tickets and teamgear and the like to help cover the costs of operation. so while paintball struggles to be thought of as "professional" its still very amateur. after all, 99% of "pro" paintball players.... arent. theyre just serious hobbyists since most of them dont get paid to play. thats why it was such a big deal when ollie left dynasty. he got paid......like a free agent... but hardly anyone else in paintball has done anything of the sort.

paintball needs to step up to its potential, not have sponsors step down to where it is now.

no i think your but in other professional sports like football there is just one major company suppying everyone (rebok and jerseys) so imo if for example dye was the only company making guns or gear everyone would buy theyre gear, becasue theres no other companys out there i mean sure theres tons of companys creating football gear but only a few companys that the nfl actually uses(motorola, rebok, gatorade, ect.) i think paintball is based so much on "what the pros use" becasue theres so many damn choices in gear!

but i have thought a little more on it. i think its because the companies sponsor the league and not the teams. so the players or teams still get to use what they want and the company still gets the benefit of sponsorship thru the league and its stamp of approval. so the company gets association with the league whether certain players use thier stuff or not. after that they go to personal sponsorships of players if they want to try to get a superstar to use thier gear.
this is more obvious with hockey than alot of other sports. look down the bench or at the players on the ice and you will see almost as many different stick manufacturers as there are players, different helmets and gloves and very likely, although you cant see it, several different pads manufacturers. skates too, but theyre so taped up usually you cant tell the make.
