Ok so heres the deal locally i can get a 2.5 dragon with cp red and a lot of ups with a 1 of 1 color all black and gold for 600 bills. Or i can get a quest for about a 100 or 2 more. Is it really worth it? I know the quest works on 5 orings so if you got a prob just change the rings and stuff but you cant field strip it and work on it right there. This is a hard choice both companys have great service and the guns are top of the top and both are great to shoot and hold.

Im serious about tourney ball so i think the timmy is a better one.. its all black with gold parts and ups.. great gun.. but do you think 200 dollars more is worth it to get the quest

they're both great guns and seeing this is a quest forum, im going to be as unbiased as i can be:

tell you what, i never liked timmys, dont know why, but i do know they are good guns, one thing i know is the #1 local team around here is national disaster, well #1 rookie team, and they sponsored by NPS and they get all the empire shit and Timmys all hooked up, but i was playing with them on sunday and everyone of them were shooting a quest... no lie.. timmys stayed in the bag and the quest was gun of choice.. all i gotta say about that

YEah quest is a local gun i know the people that came up with it. But i been a timmy fan all my life. I like the quest but im not sure if its worth an extra 200 bills.

You have shot it correct? Honestly with high end gats like this it comes down to personal feel. I personally love the feel. When i was an idiot and over lubed the regs I used my backup (dynasty). I was like wow i forgot the dynasty is freakin nice still. but after using it for couple games i went back to the quest and the balence and everything just feels like perfection to me.

My cousin has been bashing the quest since i started looking at it months ago. He still bashes both of them, but i made him hold it and icould see it in his eyes, if he had $800 and the quest styling was different (he thinks its "ugly as sin") he would own one too.

If you like both, have shot both then i would look at:

-which feels better
-which looks better
-which comes with a better barrel ( i know i have sold all my barrel kits since using the 007)
-which has better resale value ( incase your one of the many gun hors with ADD )

Yeah they both feel good. Looks hands down dragon timmy. Barrel is a 2 peice cp. And the resale value matters because i usually need the money thats why the drag is a better choice.

Id say quest resale is unreal. most sell on pbn for 750-800. 900 new. that owns.

but i will admit i know nothing about timmies. except thats the 06 looks tiny, bought time.

yeah i like the timmy. Its a great gun but truely is that quest the supreme gun of the 2? what makes it.

what makes the quest great to me is

-Top performance ( no kick, light, pods after pods after pods off 1 fill...did i mention consistancy?)
-EZ maintenence
-Top notch customer service
-The FEP family, it makes a big difference when people can ask questions and get feedback without flame...sorry i cant stand 90% of pbn forums because of people who take more time to flame than they would have needed to answer a simple question.
-Balence, feels so smooth and is weight is distributed perfectly
-007 barrel, bond only wishes he could have been this accurate.

think that about covers it, im sure i missed somthing but thats what makes it perfection to me.

i always found timmys to be front heavy. which sucks cause your always fighting it to get it pointed at the bad guys. the quest is back heavy but that makes it easier to point the "loud" end at the bad guys. i also find timmys to be large and long. im a fill in player cause i can play anywhere... but i prefer mid and front. to me, the timmy just doesnt feel right. but thats just my own personal preference. before i bought my quest i was looking at a shocker because its smaller, lighter, tighter. none of which is a problem if you play in the middle or back, but if you have to bump up to the front real quick, the smaller the better. and the way the quest feels TO ME is a whole lot better than any other gun ive tried. which makes it for me better than any other. notice i say how it feels to me, it may not feel as good to you and thus not be THE gun for you to have. you really have to try it out.

smaller, lighter, tighter was just a general reference to the shockers dimensions. wasnt comparing it to anything in particular. the quest is actually of a VERY similair dimension.

Hey Static,

Big Dave here FEP Inc. K here’s the deal I manufacture the Quest Marker and if you ask me what the best marker on the market is, I would have to say the Quest....... but what I need to know from you is if you are on a budget and you can't afford a Quest at the moment, or do you actually think that the 2.5 Dragon Timmy is a better gun?.......My response to that question would be NO! Although the BL Timmy’s are awesome gats, and trust me Bob Long and I are very close friends, and I have shot nothing but Timmy’s for the past 7 years, Team Urban Quest was one of very few teams that Bobby sponsored. If you don't have the cash for a Quest right now then you can’t go wrong buying a Timmy, Just not one that is that old......I have several 1 off Timmy’s that I would never part with, but if you would like to purchase a 1 off Custom made for me, I would gladly sell you it.... it is a one off black to red fade 05 dragon with all the bells and whistles.....very clean it has been used to blow the heads off of several top notch players in the industry....$700.00...if you or anyone else is interested give me a shout!!!!

Sweet!

Honestly.. I have both... well i HAD a lasoya that was main and sold it for my Quest, BEST thing i have EVER done in my Paintballing Career! Now i personally love the Quest, And it Feels Much more comfortable then Any timmy.. Timmys are BIG markers... Look at them... all of them.. there almsot 4 inchs taller then a Quest.. Besides... ALL timmys Shoot the same... Ive Seen GZ's Outshoot 06 timmys...Egos, and Even My Quest. but then again, You arent buying 30Bps in a quest.. your buying everything that matters in a marker.

Anyway I'll be using my GZ as a Backup, IF my quest Ever goes down. since Timmys are Reliable <and the Timmy guy on the island has like 9 of them.. and can fix them in his sleep... no seriously> i Know it wont Ever go down..

BTW...How many Bigg Boss guys Come to talk with there customers on a Daily Basis... ^^

damn.....i feel like such a loser for keeping my 2k right feed cocker as a back up now. even if it does have an A.N.S frame and bolt, kapp cocking rod, roller sear, lightened springs and a sweet ass did it myself mill job(with a REAL mill even!!)

Physcojosh

LoL cockers are Sweet, like the big boys 98c... but are a pain to Re time if they go down on you IG and such, to much stuff to worry about.

jeffreyjames
05-01-2006, 04:37 AM
ive NEVER had a problem like that with my cocker. probably because i took the time to learn it. matter of fact i learned how to work on cockers before i ever owned one by reading a couple tech forums and seeing some pics. ive always known what was going on with my cocker and why it was doing certain things except one time when i blew a ram seal(leave my personal life out of it), cause at first it seemed like it was out of time thru the 3way. then i thought about it while i was talking with the tech and said... hey! maybe its the ram seal? he agreed and tried it and that was it. one thing the cocker taught me is to understand your gun completely before you go and futz with it or EVER say anything bad about it. chances are its YOUR FAULT its fooked up, not anything the gun did. and if the gun actually does break down.....if you know how it works its not that hard to fix. a lesson the younger folks could really learn from. (especially if you notice the rampant illiteracy in thier own posts) they cant take the time to read or spell let alone listen to anything you might tell them.

That's the thing Psyco...(a couple posts up) I've never had my quest go down =) It's so easy. Okay...I take that back...one time I tried to see how far i could go without re-lube and after like 1500 shots it got a little shaky. And then another time I was relubing and forgot the back pin oring and I got air leaking out the pin...but those are all stupid and really easy fixes and don't count!

You have to relube after 1500 shots? ieeeee something is wrong

Physcojosh
05-01-2006, 04:39 PM
