prolly a silly question or maybe one i missed the answer to along the way. what kind of grips are those on the all blu pre-swap quest? lol and i wonder if its really cost effective to buy a new gun to do a color swap like that? they look great btw...if fep does two-tone guns they should do em like that. im gonna have to get into the phone book and see if i can find any local annodizers and laser engravers, got a couple ideas.

those are Gen1 Quests, they have an Older Grip pattern, that uses angel style Grips.
You can Call FeP , They can Re anno your gun for 100$ for 1 color, maybe you can work out a deal...

Like physcho stated the blue grip frame is from a gen 1. I do love the grips on it, but im sure FEP will revelutionize grip design like they have every other facet of the marker.
And
Im glad you liked the swapped colors, i wish i would have known. I was getting some negative comments...so i put them back together to solids. Course I did this and relubed everything, but this time i used the stock lube they gave you since i could not find my shocker grease.......Yeah I donno if it was the lube or what but now, yea both my sexy quests are shooting like dog ****.
I feel like an idiot. I was at my local reball place trying to tweak the lpr's, input pressure, and dwell and it got me no where. Luckily the guys at the shop had some rare lube "blue goo" they called it. It got one up and running, but the consistancy was discustingly erratic. (still got quite a few pods off a 45/45:tup: )
Yea....so I officialy know everyones pain now when they quest is malfunctioning. I have had troubles like this before but never this severe. I think i must have over greased the HPR and LPR. Course im too busy trying to graduate to have time to tech them so they will live in my car for a week :(.
The urethane oring kit should have arrived at my house (im at my dormatory). I hope that i can clean all the nasty stock grease).....Sorry FEP....i thought it was j-- F'in---unk) toss on urethane orings all over the place and set everything as close to stock as i can. I make pick up some slick honey and change batteries (again) as well.
Now that I hyjacked Jeff's thread I do apologize, Im honestly disgusted and embarassed with myself that I couldnt get these 2 beauties purring last night.
Well cross your fingers for me....
If anyone has ever had problems after greasing their regs let me know. I had not previously touched them, they were doing very nice but they looked dirty and dry. So much for trying to baby it.

Owch
i should look into those ureathane o rings.. the middle oring on my bolt is Blue.. which isnt black like the rest...
anyway i just lube it all with slick honey, no probs yet, i need to relube my lpr and CP also. Make sure you wipe the Noid off of the excess grease.. it kinda builds up some times..

dont give it a thought lu. if you need to highjack me to get something out do it. doesnt bother me a bit. i appreciate the insight into your woes. gives me something to fall back on if i ever have any.
i dont understand why you were getting negative comments about them.... i liked the black top with blue bottom better, but they both looked great. and i know i just got my quest but it LOOKS like the lube in the tin is the same as my shocker lube i have. faint pink color and all. but so many people all swear by different stuff i guess its a matter of finding what YOU like best or works best where you are. i.e 33 is better than 55 in the cold.
i need to reread the grip sticky post about what grips are replaceable....i got the skull with the sword thru it and its starting to lose some of its colors...can i get it replaced yet?
i ALMOST wish i had an early edition quest to be able to put angel grips on it. one of the reasons i asked about "interchangeable parts" in another thread. but that was just to know what i could use for ghetto engineering to make it work if crazy things happened(as sometimes do) on the field.
