Well, Virginia is a big state. In Northern VA you have quite a few teams and the Pevs Tournament Series out of Pevs Paintball. Western VA has Skyline paintball. Richmond, Norfolk and Fredericksburg also have lots of fields and teams that play out of there. The distance between many of these locations is several hours so we'd need to know where in Virginia you're moving to before we can give you some advice.

When you say in the Southeast...do you mean Southeast Virginia or the Southeast United States?

Southeast Virginia has a very diverse population due to the military bases in Norfolk, they also have several top notch schools (traditionally african american universities) at Norfolk and Hampton with a very diverse population. I'd be surprised to see such an overt amount of racism there. (Though, it happens anywhere that there are people who haven't pulled themselves out of the 1860's).

If you mean the SE United States, I think you'll find a general acceptance in larger communities/urban areas where you're likely to have more cultured/intelligent/open-minded people but there is racism in the rural communities, I'm sorry to say.
