Hey I just got my quest yesterday, and i cant seem to get psp mode to work. Ive only been dry firing it but i cant figure out whats wrong. Also, the gun seems to not be registering all of my shots :( I love this gun, i just need to figure these little tech difficulties out, and your help would be great!

put some paint through it with the yellow color set at 2 and it will psp ramp, it wont ramp with the eyes off because that wouldnt make to much sence, so go ahead and put some paint through it, also im pretty sure (never used it) but one of the dipswitches (the one that isnt tournament lock) can be switched to the on position and it will make the quest simulate paint being in the breech, that MIGHT let you dry fire in modes, else your stuck in semi for dry fire

the only mode that works with the eyes off is semi. and also make sure the triigger is adjusted properly. when i first got mine, the magnet was too far in.

PSP mode isn't so legal unless its been changed....PSP mode starts as semi for 3 then ramps, but never goes back to 3 semi after a 1 second wait...but putting it in fire mode 5 "ramp starts @ 5" works great & if u cap the BPS @ 15 its PSP legal, but i hope they changed the programmin

i dont know psp rules as far as the ramping, i do nppl, but again, it takes dm chips, thats a pretty simple solution

PSP rules say that 1st 3 shots r semi then ramp to 15.4 MAX, then after not firing it for 1 second it resets, so u hafta make 3 semi-auto pulls then the 4th goes back to rampin & so on.........

15.4... .4.... why .4? cant it just be 15? Lol, its like me getting this drink from 7-11 today that ended up at 99c... i get a penny back... whoo! a penny! Make it a dollar! Sorry, just dont get it. Im sure there is a perfectly good reason... :xeyed: Nppl rules make sence to me so ill stick with that for now.

yeah well the .4 is a buffer so guys who set the guns for 15 & the 15 is approx so when itz off a lil they don't get raped by havin a fast gun, but if they break 15.4 like ryan greenspan did @ chicago, they get the boot

ryan did a little more than break the 15.4... he shot a good bit above that cap

i am having the same problem with my psp setting, only mine sparatically will reset after 1 second then 1 3 shot burst then semi so its kinda like

1 semi>2semi>3semi>psp burst>...1 second...>burst> 1semi>2semi>3semi

its really wierd but i think ill just get a dm chip for it

the stock PSP mode on the quest isn't quite right...it doesn't fit into the PSP rules, or at least the one i've been using doesn't....however if u put it into fire mode 5 it will b legal as long as u cap it @ 15 bps, & in that mode u only hafta shoot 1 more BPS than the MINIMUM legal PSP setting, so it doesn't really take that much effort....& yeah ryan was WAY over, he wuz @ 21 or 22 i think........thatz bad

well if his shocker was ramping like i believe it was it was more like 24, thats a weee bit over 15.4 in MY opinion, refs seemed to agree as well

ramping...eh...i like the burst so much more for snapping and such..i dunno. will the dm chips work flawlessly or do they have issues in the quest?

im a big fan of NPPL Semi, i can shoot the 15bps cap so the only benifit to ramping for me is the fact that i can sustain a rof while reloading, but you dont need that if you play right

well no, the psp ramp allows you to a lot more interesting things than just shootings while reloading, such as

shooting while sliding in
shooting when crawling up the snake
shooting when reloading (mentioned above)

I personally like the PSP ramp

And Mad Turtle, the DM chips will work in the quest, because people have stated they have worked in them before. And plus, if people can get DM boards to work in timmies, a drastically different mechanical working marker, then they will work in the quest.

ok i just got back from getting certified on that gun and the person that made it said that dm chips wont work because the timing is off so i think im right unless u know more than the guy that made it

well, they might work, just not as well as they should, because i do remember one of the early quest owners put one in there and it worked. But, i do agree that they arent going to work perfectly right and to the quests full potential.

timing is off in dm chips as far as the quest goes, they wont work properly, Virtue has a chip out for the quest

yes, really, and no its not up on the site yet, if you must you can call them or email them, just have some patience man, get your quest running right and stop blowing guages by being stupid before you worry about a chip ok? a quest is ALOT different than your old ion, take the time to learn it before you go messing with things sam

... well i dont think it because that you did it, but how you did it.... just dont go cranking your reg all the way up and putting it in demo mode and shooting it at 600psi again and youll be fine, this ISNT a ion sam, and your lucky it has a dm solenoid and that the solenoid is durable.... else it would probably of been in peices by now after that... :crash:

i no im soooooo lucky...when i read the manual it said to put it 3 threads in past flush, i though that meant three turns...so...o and btw that training mode thing...lol...all i did was turn my lpr down so the gun woudnt cycle so i could dry fire it in my house (my parents have something against paintball guns firing in the house...go figure)

So if I get it right, PSP mode doesn't reset after 1s? Or it does, but gives a 3 shot burst before it goes back to the 3 shot semi auto?

NO.....at least it didn't a few weeks ago which was the last time i messed with the quest...sorry i've been tinkerin with timmies lately...

it NEVER reset....but setting the fire mode to 5 worked fine and only took 1 more bps than PSP
