This thread is intended to gauge interest in a new project Wildfire Paintball Games might undergo.

The most common complaint we hear coming out of our indoor field in Snellville, GA is simply the floor. For all of the players that have yet to come, we currently have a concrete floor covered with oil dry to suck up the paint from the ground. After a few games, the floor becomes slightly slippery.

On to the point of this thread. Depending on the interest, we might be putting down terf on the field. I'm not talking normal astroterf, but the terf they use at the Georgia Dome. This is the real deal artificial grass.

Continuing...
If you have played at the indoor field in Snellville, and your experience was bad because of the floor, would you play there again with a terfed field? If you have not played on the field would you play on Georgia's only (and one of the only southeast) indoor fields with terf?

Thanks in advance to all answers and opinions.

I've played on turf in Illinois. It is still very slippery to play on. The big advantage in indoor fields is to get out of the weather. It will never be as good as outdoor thou. If you can find a non slip surface to play on you will get my business. Either way i will stop by to see it when its done to try it out

wkbrd1414 - we do have an airball field, and we do have tourneys at the indoor field.

kitbh - the field terf we will be using is the same stuff the NPPL uses, so hopefully with proper maintainence it will be less slippery.

I would definately consider playing there more.
You guys should do like a certain day of the week BYOP, to get people to just come and see what it's like.
The reason I will never play there is because it's not BYOP, and the field paint is fairly expensive.

paintballpro6590 - yeah we already have airball, turf i think will make it great

sosoDAF - i understand, but the location we have is very expensive so we gotta pay the bills somehow. the price has gone down though.

Yeah man, I hear ya.
I wasn't hating on the field, I'm just stating my opinion.
I think once it starts getting really cold, you guys will get some more customers.

Eddy and Myself have been toying wiht the Idea of a BYOP day scheduled maybe once a month or every other month, for the 2006 calender year. however, We must view all the positives and negative impacts it will have on business before doing so. And Looking around, a lot of BYOP fields are hurting, hell one is running their field out of a wooden shed, closing their store, not exactly route we want to go now, is it?

Soso, do you have a team, or know guys that are considered "advanced" to where they may want to play more competitively. We were thinging doing a advanced player night, where the entry fee would be different,
for example, cheaper paint ( cannot be brought back like normal field paint, and differnt shell so it cant be attempted) sold in 1/2 and whole cases aat a time. Air fills is All day ONLY ( so they can jsut refill as needed without paying more than once)
this would give a time for teams to play other teams, and players looking for a tema to go where teams would be scouting for players.

what ya think?

GOOD NEWS!!!
Astroturf will be in the indoor field early in 2006. I expect to see all the people that said they would come back if we put down astroturf to be there eventually. Hope to see you guys soon.
