i know this isnt exactly the right forum to post a barrel question, but i figured there's no better place to find a bunch of ppl who all have experience with Palmer barrels.. anyway here's my question.

IF i were to buy a blazer, can i order what i want the ID of my barrel to be?? If not, what's the standard ID?

if yes, with the elliptical bore millling, is it better to shoot paint slightly too big for the bore (i.e. shooting medium-bore paint thru a small-bore barrel) or is it better if the paint is slightly too small (i.e. shooting small-bore paint thru a medium-bore barrel)??

99% of the time i shoot small or medium bore paint. i've read that because of the eliptical bore pattern of the Palmer barrels, they are not as sensitive to OD/ID mismatches.. but if i was only going to order 1 barrel, should it be medium bore, or small bore?

thanks guys

You can order a specific bore id. Palmer will do it. Just tell them when you order it. I ordered a tightbore .688 for mine. I think, not sure, the standard is around .690-.691. Not sure on the elliptical issue also. Some knowledgable palmerite may have the answers.

When a ball is fired the burst of air causes the shape to get distorted. The eliptical bore allows the ball to expand as the burst of air pushes it down the barrel. Then, at the other end, it tapers back and the ball returns to it's original shape. Other barrels do not have this which causes the balls to break in the barrel. Regardless of paint brand, age or size, I have don't recall ever breaking paint in a Palmer barrel. Palmer's recommends large to medium bore because the ball will have greater kinetic energy due to the larger mass, ensuring ball breaks range etc....

standard barrel ID is .693
tight bore ID is .688

Those are the only two options PPS has.

If you require anything between .685 and .695 BOA makes brass Blazer barrels.

does BOA have a website that you can order barrels form? or that you can order their products from?

BTW, palmer barrels are like the best, i have used them on a blazer and a cocker and love the way the feel and they never break paint...i would get one just because the quality is so good.

I got my boa cocker barrel from:
http://www.doodlebugsportz.com/contact.html

I found this dealer straight from boa's dealer list. You will save a little bit of money buying from a dealer. Contact boa directly first about the price then contact the website on top to see if their price is better.

You can also buy BOA barrels from Jom @ Compulsive Paintball.

www.compulsivepaintball.com

I know he stocks Cocker BOA barrels, but I don't see why he wouldn't order a Blazer barrel for you too. :)
