I play on a team that used to play on a local field at a church it was a nice set up and all it had a speed ball field and a sup air ball field and on the site where it is located we got this letter....

I did some research on Paintball and it looks like we need to discontinue it. I received advice form 4 lawyers stating to get out of it immediately. The intent is to injure, the risks are real and the church will not be covered. Basically, the intent of a waiver is to discourage lawsuits and imply that you have accepted responsibility for liability and have no right to sue. The Constitution guarantees every citizen of the US a right to sue. You cannot give up a Constitutional right. It’s a ticking bomb. As I have shared that other story before, it is too risky. Please discontinue all paintball activities immediately. We can’t allow any activities on church property relating to it, this includes storage and deliveries. No ministry is allowed to hold paintball activities.

Unless you have insurance (I'm guessing you don't), they are being smart (legally) by cutting it off. If you do have insurance, than you should educate him on the sports safety record in a nice way, and see if you can change their opinion of the sport.

^^^^ yup what he said^^^^ its alot easier to accept other sports that have full contact like football, wrestling etc...but when folks combine the words gun and shoot to eliminate others from the game it becomes to extreme for some to accept it as safer than most extreme sports.

If not too late get a hold of me. Plenty of churches in my area have used this as a ministry and watched the youth groups grow to unalloted numbers. Infact I have church youth groups at my field all the time. Give me a email we can talk. ;)
