im thinkin about gettin an itercepter and just wondering stuff

they use NME boards right?
what bolts do they use, im kinda handy so if they are close to a bushy bolt or somthing i think i could shape it down?
What triggers they use?
could you put an intimidator popet, front block, lpr (looks like you can from pics)?
what feedneck threads does it use?

thanks

I believe they have the same boards as the NME, not 100% positive though.
They use a Timmy LPR I know that. Not sure about Front block.
The bolt of a Bushy can't go in the interceptor though, the front is far too short, when the bolt is all the way forward it only covers about 1/4 of the breach. The bolt pin on the Bushy bolt won't go all the way down and can easily come out of the ram.
Feedneck threads are Bushmaster.

The trigger of a DM4 looks like it might work, like the CP and FBM ones might work.

The boards were first design for the Interceptor. Yes, they are the same.

They use a Timmy LPR I know that. Not sure about Front block.

The front block would need some modding to fit. There are eye-wire grooves milled into the rear of the Interceptor reg block that do not exist in timmy blocks. I don't know if the retaining screw in the Interceptor body lines up with the timmy blocks either. It is possible to put a timmy block on an 'ceptor but its not a drop-in kind of thing.

The bolt of a Bushy can't go in the interceptor though, the front is far too short, when the bolt is all the way forward it only covers about 1/4 of the breach. The bolt pin on the Bushy bolt won't go all the way down and can easily come out of the ram.

Replacing the Interceptor bolt with *anything* will negate the unique characteristics of the Interceptor. Remember that Alien calls it the "Sweep Bolt" for a reason. Take a look at the pics of the bolt at AlienOG.com and you'll see that its definately unique.

Alien has mentioned that they have a new bolt in the works. I found it interesting that Jack's mentioning of that a few threads down was overlooked.

[I]Alien has mentioned that they have a new bolt in the works.I]
Perhaps that was misread - or a misquote on my part! The design will not change. Half circle - below centerline, fed by a quarter radius. That's the key! Difference is that it may not continue to be made half Delrin and half Aluminum. Will be a little lighter, that's all!
And Rluna is right, Board was made for Alien and Jim Drew called and asked if I indeed told System X they should use the same board. The more people that use it the cheaper it gets for players. I mean there are players paying $1,200 and $1,600 for guns that don't shoot any better than the Interceptor if they shoot as good.

So, It'll take 2k2 or 2k5 timmy lpr's? Or both? I'm looking into an alien and I might want to get a timmy jds lpr in the future, thats why i'm asking.

Also: what type of grips does it take? .45? And detents? and feedneck?

Nvm... Found it...

What after-market parts will fit the Interceptor?

Same as the Alien - any Auto-cocker barrel, any Bushmaster/Angel threaded feed neck and any drop forward and any vertical regulator. 2002 Intimidator LPR's will fit this marker.

But no info on the detents or grips. :(

detents = matrix rubber nubbin
45's will fit the frame, though not "perfectly"

check the photo sticky at the top, there are interceptors with 45 grips on them.

lots of internal pics at the alienog.com - including the detents.

why would u want a timmy poppit they tend to not be as reliable as any other poppit on any other marker.

just my 2 cents.

all popets are the same, aren't they
also, CAN YOU USE THE CP DM4 TIRIGGERS ON IT, that way you c ould adjust spring pressure, just a question, how light is the trigger pull?

my preference (new 05 black magic with sf frame) BLEEE sf frame- pulling a cement block
(shocker trigger)- shoots when you don't pull it
(timmy)- just right

all poppets arnt the same. timmy poppets have orings on them. and i dont think the dm4 trigger works

Other triggers don't fit
The main reason someone would change the LPR is to go with a volumizer. Plus some players just want to change stuff out. AKA Volumizer and LPR work fine.
