Fields in Gainesville, FL?

I am going to visit my sister at UF and I know of 2 or 3 fields in Gainesville but I was wondering if anyone knows of any good fields that have speedball and nitro fills.

well, First Strike has 2 fields. One huge woods one, and one speedball field. They have nitro. No sup' air. Rocky Creek is the worst of the two, I don't like it much, but play there the most because they have more fields. They have several speedball, and all fields. When are you coming, maybe we could hook up andplay together. Both have nitro, boht use PMI Advantage-botha re the same price.

I am going up on saturday and I'm going to be playing some with my sister's friends. I read on Warpig that Rocky Creek did a BYOP thing during the summer, so of course I was going to go there. I really want to play speedball, woods just isn't my thing.

Do you have AIM because I could talk to you on there

no, don't have aim, porn filter makes it not work. I don't know about a Rocky Creek BYOP think. Paint is 80 a case, $10 all day air, 5 field fee. This Saturday? the 21 I think it is. If thats when, then that sucks. You see, I run my own little lawn business, and I'm going out to help another kid get one started. My Sat. is booked.

on the rocky creek web site it says paint is 65 a case


which one is cleaner and more organized in your own personal experience?

Rocky Creek NEVER updates their site. A month or so agao when I played there they had raised them to $80 a case. I would recommend Rocky Creek. You see, I became a regular there, and they jsut became snobby. I mean, I was chronoing my Impulse and the Ref tried to tell me to chrono it this way, or I would break my gun. Hmm, not often that I will break a gun adjsut ing the velocity the way SP tells me to. I was right-he was wrong. Also, I made several players surrender one game. My teamate shot one of them, about the same time as I popped up and told him to surrender. He complained, and the field owner (Jimmy) started yelling at me, cause he thought I shot him. He told me to stop playing tourny style. I didn't shoot anything that game-was out of air. Plus, he had JUST sold me a case of paint, which he himself told me was yellow fill. It was yellow, but this guy had PINK marks. I didn;t shoot him. I could tell you countless more stories, Ijsut think they are a bunch of snobs. Rumor has it they may be closing-thats just a rumor, not confirmed nor denied. I also like First Strike cause they are only a couple minutes from my house.

oh, and RC only has one ref most of the time-really big groups get 2. FS has several most of the time. RC also had (not sure if it still is) a boat parked in their little covered area where they usually sell paint, fill tanks, etc. They've been using a semi trailer for that for the time being. FS brings thier paint from the owner's house, so it is like, more climate controlled, he has his stuff in a small trailer thingy too. I think FS is more organized, but RC has better fields.

are the speed ball fields really big?
how is the speedball field at First Strike?

which has the lowest chrono limit?

which one usually has a bigger turn out of players?

can you just play on the speedball fields the whole time or do you have to follow the whole group?

I like questions. RC has 4 fiels. 5 actually, but I don't think they use one. They have 2 fields that are made of porta pottis and pallets. They are tight, maybe good for 5 man teams. One would work for 3 man. Then one field one would be great for 5 or 7 man, and field ?? they have trenches-Ihae that field don't play it much. You kinda have to stay with your group unless you came with some friends and you all want to play one field. I know the ref at RC will let you do that-don't -lay much at FS (lost their address and all, and then ran into finance troubles, so haven't played much in the last couple months. Onlyplayed at FS oncee or twicec) The field at FS is cool, has 3 fort buildings, an X bunker at the 50 on he tape, some nice stand up. Entire thing made of plywood and all-one of the bunkers is an old propane tank thingy. It's cool. I liked it. I still thik the fields at RC are better. FS limit is 285, RC is 265. I don't know about FS, but RC usually has enough for one big group or 2 small groups about 10-11 in the morning. Haven't played enough at FS to tell. Sorry about bad typing

Thanks for all the help, I wish I could meet you out there on saturday but I might be going up again this summer. I live about 2 hours away so it isn't that bad of a drive.

So youa re coming in 2 days. Well, have a good time. I'll be earning money so I can afford to play. Today working at one REALLY opvergrown house I pulled ELEVEN 33 gallon bags worth of weeds in only 3 hours.

if I work slower I get tired, and it gets very hot in FL (you should kow) so I don't like to work more than 3-4 hours in the morning. Also, this guy knows that there are a TON of work to do, so he told me that eh woon't pay by the hour.

rocky creek used to be my regular field but certain business policy kinda turned me away from it. Objectively the fields at RC are a lot better than FS but Rc is by appointment only starting summer. How long will you be in gainesville? Waynes world in Ocala has a BYOP day on the 30th and a free for all day at the 29th but tou have to use the field paint (ww is selling a zap white box for 37.50/case). They also have a mini tourney on the 28th (BYOP). Our team practice mostly with the resident WW team (wrecks- 2001 IAO novice champs) and we usually play on SUndays. They have a nice pro shop too. Maybe I'll see you at the field. Just take 441S from Gainesville and it is across the drive in theatre.

I got up to gainesville and it rained every single day that I was there. It sucked bad, I went to check out rocky creek for the next time I decided to go and I thought it was okay, the fields weren't what I expected. There was one "fence" field that looked okay but the rest just kind of looked like random fields, I didn't get to walk them, but from the net side they looked mighty random, not many lanes or angles to play. Kind of disapointing but the owner seemed like a nice person. I'm really interested in going to Waynes World, I have heard good things about that place. I'll see if I'm going to go, I'll let you guys know.

yeah, it rained all day Saturday-I felt bad that you couldn't play-I hate it when I know people can't pl;ay, especailly me. RC odesn't have the greatest management, but thier fielda re ok. Their fieldsa re kinda random. Still better than FS. FS just needs more fields.
